ABOUT US - Griswold Chiropractic Clinic Dr. Jim Griswold was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan. Dr. Jim has three children from his first marriage, Amie, Jim Jr. and Misty. Amie is married to Sam and they have two children, Anthony and Mike. In 2003 he married his wife Jan who also manages the office. She brings two of her own children to the mix, Brian and Jen. There are a few other children that have come into the family as well, Scott, Tina and Theresa as well as a few more grand children, and now great grandchildren. We’re just a big happy blended family.

Dr. Jim attended Mona Shores schools, finishing at Fruitport schools, graduating in 1978. Later in life he attended Muskegon Community College, gaining an Associates in Science degree in 1987. He then attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Dr. Jim completed chiropractic graduation requirements early and took a preceptor position with Dr. Barry McAlpine in Holland, Michigan in 1990. This position fulfilled the final graduation clinical requirements and introduced Dr. Jim to practice being a chiropractor in Michigan. After matriculating in 1991 he continued to work for McAlpine Chiropractic Group and moved to Fruitport near his home town. In the fall he opened his own practice in Spring Lake, Michigan. The practice has been at the present location since 1992

OUR STAFF
Our Office manager is Jan Griswold, Dr. Jim’s wife. She is originally from the Grand Rapids area. She now resides in Spring Lake with Dr. Jim. Jan attended Godwin schools and later went to Davenport College. She handles office management, scheduling, insurance billing, and keeping Dr. Jim in line. Her interests include caring for their three special cats, spending time with the grand and great grand children, bass fishing and reading the Susan Grafton novel series. She also remodels the house when Dr. Jim goes deer hunting.

About Our Community
Our little west michigan bedroom community lies on an inland peninsula. It is bordered to the south by the grand river, michigan’s largest river. To the north is spring lake, about 2100 acres of water fun, a boater’s and fishing paradise. A little to the west lie the white sandy beaches and postcard perfect sunsets of lake michigan. Bring your own boat or charter one and you can tap into some excellent big lake, inland lake or river fishing.

There are many small to medium sized companies within our boarders as well as a number of retail and professional establishments. We have some excellent, though small, restaurants here. Notably, pueblo’s authentic mexican and two tony’s for the greek and italian in you. We have a fish market with the catch of the day and a wonderful full winery to cap off your meal. Tucked away to the north is the elegant arboreal inn for fine dining experiences. More laid back diners will find sam’s rib joint to their liking. There are also a host of the national chain eateries for a quick meal and some small local diners.

Spring lake is located minutes from larger communities like muskegon, grand rapids and holland. We have the benefits of small town living with big city nightlife just a short ride away. Muskegon is host to the fury hockey team, Grand Rapids has the Van Andel Arena, rated as one of the top entertainment venues in the country. Holland is host to the tulip festival in the spring, one of the largest in the country. Just southwest is grand haven with the world renowned musical fountain. Grand haven is also known as coast guard city usa. There is truly something for everyone here, or nearby.

Even in the winter there is much to do. Snowmobiling, ice fishing, hunting and trapping. There is even a small ski slope in grand haven if you like. To heat you up we have the chili blues festival in mid winter. Like the title says, it’s chili to eat and blues to listen to.
